Tarcisio Montorfano — When you love your work all answers come naturally

Tarcisio is a master craftsman who I met in 2013. During many months in Italy I could not find anyone who could create a perfect wooden foundation for my Buwood bag. Only Tarcisio could create it.

OUR CONVERSATION

This dialogue was recorded in September 2018. I like Tarcisio’s attitude to what others considered impossible to make (the wooden core for my bag that I tell about in my story). It’s because our mastery is natural to us. When we live our mastery, no need for big words.

PASSION

At age 12, Tarcisio began helping his dad work on wood. He left school only because he really liked what his father was doing.

“Dad until the last day of his life loved his job and was interested in work.”

First impressions: “It fascinated me. I felt curious.”

SIMPLICITY

—Why wood?

—Because we live in Cantu and everyone here is making wood.

LOVE FOR CHALLENGES

Tarcisio likes the most diversity of projects and constant challenges. He needs to invent new solutions for every project.

HONESTY

When a potential client arrives and if Tarcisio sees that this job could be done better and faster by someone else, he will give an address and send the client to other people.

HEART

— How did you find us? — Tarcisio asked me after seven years of working together.
