27. Destined encounter

On the first day of my telephone adventure, I came across a voice that felt right. We met. He recommended a meeting with his unusual colleague, and there I went, to meet the mysterious Mindert. 

Mindert’s showroom was the most extraordinary workshop I ever saw. An oasis in the centre of Milan, green lace of interweaving plants, a retro car in the middle, lots of dust and a big white dog. The rarest name in the world. For many years working in this industry, Mindert was  known for finding keys to the impossible.

While I was standing in front of him trying to find words to express my challenge, Mindert looked at the wooden foundation in my hands and reacted immediately: “To create this product, you need the best factory in Italy.” I was speechless. For the first time in almost two years, I met someone who saw the essence of my product.

I shared that I had been looking for such people for a long time. He responded: “There is one dream factory. It’s the best atelier I’ve seen in my life. They are just around the corner. This is a hush-hush production of the most legendary fashion house. I can introduce you, but I can’t influence if they will work with you. It is not just a factory. They are very special.”

I was in tears. It felt like a pivotal moment in a fairy tale. Such power was in the invisible recognition. In my heart, I sensed I had found my dream factory. I replied that I had been looking for such people for many months. He told me — "There is one extraordinary factory. This is the best atelier I've seen in my entire life. They are around the corner here. This is the secret production of the legendary fashion house. I'll introduce you, and then it's your turn".

I had tears. It felt like a pivotal moment from some legendary movies. Such incredible power was in the inexplicable and invisible. I sensed in my heart that I had found my dream factory.
