11. Godsent

Florence. My meeting is in a couple of days. While waiting, I start to experience a wave of doubts. In my rational mind, I realise how crazy this adventure is but then I remember how I promised myself to not believe in outer appearances - and not to trust my rational mind - so I realign and go to the meeting.

The encounter with Geppetto felt right from the beginning. Geppetto was half Italian and half British and I was coming across this unique combination of blood for the first time in my life. He spoke fluent English, and since I did not know a word in Italian, it made our communication such a joy.

The first thing Geppetto said upon greeting me was: “Here they call me godsent”... I couldn’t believe my ears! The meaning of these words felt especially powerful - I knew it was the sign I was waiting for. On our way to his factory outside of Florence, I found out that he worked mainly with two brands — Jimmy Choo and Celine! What a synchronicity: my soul was dancing!
