6. Be You

How could I hope to create this bag? Calling myself a designer stirred up my greatest fears. Only by removing the labels about myself and the industry could I consider making my handbag. This way I felt the freedom to be who I am and not compare my path with anyone else.

My first question to the universe was — what should I call this project? In the morning, I woke up with gifted clarity. I will call it the first letters of my surname — BU. It means Be You. It will be my reminder to be myself no matter what and to manifest this creation in my unique way.
