19. Meeting an angel
Since we had visited an excessive number of factories in the south, I was curious to explore something new — the north. Where should I begin? I still didn’t speak Italian and didn’t know where to look for the right factory. Those days the exhibition in Milan was taking place again, the one where I’d already been. What if I go there again? Now I was in a different state — I had the design and clear understanding of what I was looking for. I felt that my factory was not there. But what if I look for a lock manufacturer for my bag? The lock was a particular challenge. I was told by one renowned factory that the next prototype could be ready in five months with a low probability of success due to many technical challenges.
Why don’t I start with the lock? According to its original meaning, a lock is an opener for something. Maybe the lock will open doors to the manufacturers of my bag?
I moved to Milan and went to the exhibition. As soon as I entered the exhibition, right in the centre of the hall, I saw a small stand with accessories. The owner approached me. I started with a list of impossibilities about my lock. He smiled and said that he would overcome those impossibles in 3 weeks. This was unbelievable. And, his name was Angelo…
